Both are built in Britain for British trades. The difference is whether your admin lives in an app or in the chat you already have open.

Powered Now is one of the better-known UK trade apps, and unlike a lot of the market it is genuinely built for British rules rather than translated from somewhere else. If you are comparing it with GraftG, here is where each one wins.
It is strong on the paperwork side of a trade business: certificates and compliance forms, CIS, VAT, quotes and invoices, and scheduling for a small team. For trades that hand over a certificate at the end of a job — gas, electrical — having the forms built in is a real advantage.
GraftG is not an app. Everything happens in one WhatsApp thread: a voice note becomes a branded PDF quote, a finished job becomes an invoice, a photographed receipt is read and filed for MTD, a texted journey is logged at HMRC rates. Nothing to install, nothing to log into, and no separate place your admin has to be moved to later.
At the time of writing (October 2026), Powered Now’s Business plan is around £28 a month for sole traders, with Professional around £32 per user per month, and introductory offers often running below that. GraftG is £14 on Solo, £24 on Pro and £34 on Team for up to five people, flat per business. Prices on both sides change, so verify before switching.
If you issue compliance certificates as part of the job, that alone is a good reason to stay — GraftG does not produce gas or electrical certificates, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The same goes if you need a scheduling calendar for several engineers.
Tradies who do not need certificates and found the app itself was the obstacle: it was open on day three and forgotten by week three. If the honest problem is "I will not reliably open another app", moving the admin into WhatsApp fixes the actual failure rather than adding a better version of the same thing.
Both handle quotes, invoices, CIS deductions and VAT properly for the UK. On those, pick on how you want to work rather than on feature lists — see do I even need job management software if you are not sure you need either.
No. GraftG produces quotes, invoices, CIS statements and job records, but not regulated compliance certificates such as Gas Safe or EICR. If issuing certificates is part of your job, Powered Now or a dedicated certification app will serve you better.
Yes. On the Pro plan, CIS deductions are applied to the labour element of an invoice at your rate, with the net-to-pay figure shown clearly, and the deductions are tallied for your records.
GraftG is generally lower per business, particularly with more than one person, because it is not priced per user. At the time of writing Powered Now starts around £28 a month and rises per user on higher plans, while GraftG is £14, £24 or £34 a month flat. Check current prices on both sites.
